With more than 10 years as a Ouidad Certified Stylist, he initially trained at the Manhattan flagship salon with founder and renowned stylist Ouidad herself. Today, in his role as Master Artistic Educator, he trains, inspires, and educates other stylists through the Ouidad certification process. He is co-owner of the flagship salon, Ouidad by Chadwick and Igor, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

CURL TIP

“Always apply your styling product when your curls are completely wet, immediately after you have exited the shower. You’ll see a real difference in the appearance and behavior of your curls.”

—Chadwick Pendley

Jason Hallman has been a stylist at Ouidad's NYC flagship salon since 2011. In his role as Lead Educator, he trains stylists across the country to work with Ouidad products, haircutting, and styling techniques, and oversees training and development of salon apprentices in New York and Santa Monica.

CURL TIP

“If you don't water your plants they won’t be healthy and grow. Curls are a lot like that. Keeping your hair hydrated is the single most effective way to have bouncy, soft curls.”

—Jason Hallman

With nearly two decades of cut, color, and education experience at Ouidad, Ayanna Augustine is one of the company’s foremost curl experts. In her role as Lead Educator and Senior Stylist at Ouidad’s New York flagship salon, she leads stylists certifications and trains salon apprentices, and is a go-to stylist for VIP clientele.

CURL TIP

“A Ouidad cut removes the excess weight and bulk, and makes hair feel so light. It will make your curls more lifted, bouncy, and full of life.”

With 18 years of experience behind the chair, Jessica O'Brien brings a masterful knowledge of curls to her role as a stylist at Ouidad's New York City flagship salon. Before joining Ouidad, she was a Senior Stylist, Artistic Team Member, and Curl Specialist at Gene Juarez Salons & Spas in Seattle, where she was the leading expert in curly hair and ethnic hair.

CURL TIP

“Make sure that your hair is wet enough (think just out of the shower) when you apply your styling products. This makes it easier to apply the product, and helps create a more consistent curl.”

—Jessica O'Brien

Based in Los Angeles, Tiffany Daugherty is a celebrity hair stylist and texture expert. She uses her skill as a Ouidad-certified curl specialist to educate and style her curly-haired clients for red carpet events, photo shoots, and campaigns.

CURL TIP

“Try your best to stay away from heat—irons, blow drying straight—if you’re concerned about losing elasticity with your curls. Air drying is always best. If you must use any type of heat at all on your hair, always use an excellent heat protectant.”

—Tiffany Daugherty

September Sirico is the resident Curl Specialist at Greg & Tony in Westport, Connecticut—the first salon to become Ouidad certified in 2002. She is the owner of blow dry southport | westport—an innovative blow-dry bar that also specializes in Ouidad curl styling. She lives for beach days and beachy hair.

CURL TIP

“Treat your hair as you would your body—hydration and nutrients will allow your curls to thrive.”

—September Sirico
