1. You can use it a million different ways. “I love Mongongo Oil because it’s a multi-use product,” says Ayanna Augustine, a senior stylist at Ouidad’s New York flagship salon. “You can use it as a hot oil treatment; you can use it as a finisher. You can even use it as a moisturizing styler before you layer on your other styling products. That’s the beauty of it: You can use it in so many ways.” (For even more ideas, find out how our curl experts use Mongongo Oil.)

2. It’s the ultimate quick fix. No time to wash and re-style? No problem. “When I'm prepping a client on set or for a red carpet, I'm not always able start with a clean, wet head of hair,” says Los Angeles-based celebrity stylist Tiffany Daugherty. “Mongongo Oil is great because I can use it on wet or dry hair. On dry curls, I’m able to layer it on top of what’s already there for a frizz taming effect. It smooths out the hair instantly.”

3. It helps your other products work better. Because Mongongo Oil is so lightweight and layerable, it’s easy to add into your routine alongside your go-to products. Mix a few drops into your conditioner or mask for even deeper hydration, or smooth the oil over your gel to give curls a soft finish and help seal out frizz. “I’ve been using Mongongo Oil to break up my Rake and Shake,” says Jessica O’Brien, stylist at Ouidad’s New York flagship salon. “It makes the hair feel more moisturized and softer.”

4. It’s perfect for every curl type. Whether yours are loose, classic, tight, or kinky, your curls will see major benefits. “In the salon, I use Mongongo Oil on all curl types—I just use it in different ways,” says Lauren Moser, NAHA-winning stylist and owner of Hair Lab Detroit. “On finer hair, I use it as a conditioning treatment—I rinse it out and it's not heavy. On tighter and kinky curls, I leave it in: I use it under their product, and then I use it on top as a finisher to add shine.”

And while some oils are better suited for a specific curl type, we blended the ingredients in our Mongongo Oil Multi-Use Curl Treatment to be high-powered yet lightweight—so all curls can use it without feeling greasy or weighed down.
