Using my Rake & Shake technique, apply a nickel size dollop to palms and work evenly to sections of damp hair. Starting at the nape area take a 2" section of hair from ear to ear, and rake the lotion through; holding section at the end, then shake to reset your curl pattern. Repeat entire process, working in sections to the top of the head to your desired style.
 When applying, begin by raking fingers through underneath layers of hair first. Then, beginning at the crown, rake downward towards the ends, and lastly rake from the temple and forehead to the crown. This will ensure complete coverage and help prevent the under layers of hair from stacking out when dry.

This is the ONLY product I will use. Unlike a normal gel that leaves my hair feeling heavy and sticky, Tress Effects is light and I can even run my fingers thru my hair. I can even sleep on my hair and it still looks great the next day. I've been using this product for 10 years and I'll never switch!
This is one of the first products I used from Ouidad and I really like it - gives my fine, thin curls definition and a voluminous boost too! I live in Chicago, so summers can be very humid so I usually swap out Tress Effects for Climate Control, which gives better protection in the humidity. At any rate, I'd say my 2 favorite Ouidad products are Climate Control and Tress Effects.
I really like this product because it controls my curls without making my hair look stiff or wet. There are days when this product does not last all day, causing my hair to become frizzy. But overall I really like this product and would recommend it.
this is the only gel that I will ever use, I have tried other gels for curly hair and they either leave my hair stiff or my hair gets frizzy. I have recomended tress effects to other curly girls and they love it. not all hair is the same and curly hair needs special treatments, and thats what tress effects is, a special treatment.
Definitely boosts curls. My hair was wavy at best before Ouidad--but now it looks great--full & natural. I get lots of positive comments about my hair now!
Does not leave hair sticky. Works better for me during the summer than in winter.
This gel is AMAZING!!!!! I have tried SO many different curly ahir products and this one is the best!!! not only does it give your curls and amazing boost, it holds for days if it needs to! I'm in a performer and I do 8 shows a week, and I know when I use this gel, my hair will look great on stage show after show. I highly reccomend it!!!
I would truly be lost without it! For a few of the more humid days here in the Midwest, I would mix a bit of the Climate Control gel with it to keep my curls looking great!

Tress Effects is hands down the best styling gel I have ever used on my hair. The light control is so great, my hair is soft with no stiff or sticky residue, and it smells wonderful! Some people have even asked if they can touch my hair because they thing it seems unreal! The best part is that these crazy curls are so easy to maintain. Since I found Ouidad about 5 years ago I use nothing but Ouidad products. I am one happy curly gurl!
This is a perfect gel! First, I love the smell-so refreshing and unique. The consistency is just right and the hold is perfect, not too soft, not too crunchy. It defines my curls and leaves me frizz free all day.
After years of struggling with straightening irons and gels, I talked to a very curly friend of mine who recommended I embrace curls and try this product. I haven't gone straight a day since. It gets rid of frizz, controls my curls, and makes me feel great. Highly recommend!
