Born from the extreme customer demand for appointments with Ouidad and her team of curl gurus, the new Ouidad Salon meets the needs of present and future clientele. With curls becoming more popular each season, Ouidad is (and has been for over 30 years) helping women and men alike to understand and care for their curly locks. Her patented Carving & Slicing techniques are not only well known to industry professionals, but are asked for by name by clients at Ouidad Certified salons across the country.
The 5,000 square foot, bright, airy salon has the feel of a Soho-loft and overlooks chic 57th Street from the fourth floor. The decor is draped in earth toned hues and adorned with modern features such as faux-snakeskin couches, custom walnut floors and theatrically lit wall sconces, giving a relaxed, serene feel to the contemporary.

I flew to NYC from Hong Kong in October '08 for two reasons to visit close friends who had left HK two years before, and to get my hair cut at Ouidad. I'd first heard of the salon on my first trip to your great city in 2000, and couldn't then get an appointment, so I was determined to succeed, especially after a friend brought me a bottle of Climate Control to deal with my mixed-race locks. I made an appointment and got pretty excited. But it wasn't until I entered the salon itself, and saw customers and staff of every racial background, and all types of curly hair that I realized what I actually felt I had come home. Now I just have to find time to head Stateside again! THANK YOU for making me love my curls again!

Anila is such a talented stylistcutter. I just introduced my sister-in-law as a client and she loved her cutstyle by Anila. She takes such time with each client and truly cares about each outcome. I always feel special when I leave Ouidad and my hair looks fab for over three months. I feel I get more than my money's worth. I have always been proud to have curly hair - never a big fan of the flat iron. I have always been a firm believer that not every hairstylist knew how to cut curly hair, even though all stylists think they can. Therefore, I have never felt that my curls had reached their full potential until a friend introduced me to the Ouidad newsletter. Frustrated with my hair, I went searching the website and saw the salon in NYC. I made an appointment with Vincent and I must say that it was the best cut-style I have ever had. For years I tried so many different products on my hair in an attempt to tame my curls! For years, many a beloved hairdresser kept my curly hair looking flat. So, at the recommendation of a few curly-haired friends a few years ago, and interested in seeing what Ouidad could do for me, I set up an appointment. As an artist, I am visually attuned to the differences in appearance between Ouidads haircuts and those of other curly competition around the city. Needless to say, whether its been Virginia, Alex or, for the past year, Anila, the Ouidad staff consistently makes my hairand all haircuts that I see walk out of the salonlook incredible. The curls are bouncier, fluffier and are relatively easy to manage. I can easily spot a Ouidad Haircut when I see one in front of me, and no other salon holds up to their Ouidad competion.

Virginia did an amazing job on my hair! I was always scared of getting layers and angles because of all my bad haircut experiences in the past but I absolutely love my new haircut. Virginia really teaches you how to style your hair, she's really awesome. I would definitely recommend her and the salon as a whole to anyone with curly hair. Thanks Virigina!

2 years ago i went for the first time to Ouidad... and since then, my hair its something different.... i love it!!!! I live overseas Panama, and every time i go to NY my first stop is Ouidad, and of course VINCENT!!!!! its been a year since last time i traveled to NY and my hair is in desperate need of Vincent to take charge again.... Love the salon, everyone its great... 5 stars treatment.... and most important love Vincent, hes the BEST, 100 recommended!!!!
It's been a while since my last visit to Ouidad. My curls are thanking me now, after subjecting it to amateur even experimental hair cuts. I want to grow my hair but don't want all the weight in the bottom, so I finally went back, trusting no one else to understand how to do my curls right. Alex was excellent. Very friendly, very knowledgeable, and as she promised, she fixed me.
I flew in last Monday and had the cut and style on tuesday. Very impressed - loved Sarah. she was great with me explaining everything. I finally did it myself. I need some practice. I love going back to natural curls with NO FRIZZ. i walked around all week and you all know what kind of weather you all had last week. Humidity and rain AND NO FRIZZ. I will talkto the onwer of the salon here, because it is one of the best in my area and I think they are missing out on a ton of business with us curly hair gals!!! thanks again jan
