Ouidad: The Curl Experts

Born and raised in Europe, Alenka's inspiration comes from the European fashion market. Paying close attention to how hair influences and accentuates designer's visions, Alenka always keeps clients fashion forward with her up-to-the-minute knowledge of current trends. “After working for years in the field, I find it fulfilling when a client leaves with their exact needs taken care of,” Alenka says. “Working with curls is especially fulfilling since most women find it frustrating to deal with their natural texture. I love teaching women how to work with their ringlets.” Prior to arriving at the Ouidad salon, Alenka trained at Vidal Sassoon and Frederic Fekkai, where she won national competitions in cut and color. She also has extensive experience with Aveda, Goldwell, Matrix and Redken.

With over 8 years of Ouidad experience, Caitlin's passion continually grows for cutting, styling and treating curly hair. Having lived in Florida, the North East, and now California she has learned first-hand the effects that different climates can have on the natural state of curls. Because of this and her family's Sicilian-Lithuanian background (with hair ranging from thin and wavy to coarse and kinky) she makes sure to thoroughly educate her clients. Ensuring her clients have a greater understanding of their curls unique personalities when they leave her chair is of great importance to her. In addition to Ouidad, Caitlin has Vidal Sassoon training and has styled hair for high-end runway shows and production.

Three words that best describe my cutting style are accurate, consistent and trendy. When my clients leave the salon, I want then to feel encouraged to wear their natural curls and be truly educated on how to style it.

I draw inspiration from fashion, art and music; I feel they all are related. I believe that curls are unique, beautiful, have personality and expression. I have worked with curly hair my entire career.

What inspired me to become a hairstylist came from within, a happiness. My first time at a salon by a young woman of whom I later in life worked for was the first time I realized I could make a career out of something I loved to do. It's rewarding as a stylist to make anyone in my chair feel and look great!

My greatest professional accolades or accomplishments are industry work for Universal's Motown music video division, various production companies, hairstyling for salon photo shoots and fashion shows. I also have extensive experience with hair extensions and an expert in weaves on all types of hair.

With years of training and hands on experience working alongside Ouidad in her NYC salon, Morgan exemplifies the Ouidad way and is the head stylist at the Ouidad Salon Santa Monica. Morgan, has worked with the famed Queen of Curl since 2000. Growing up with a head of curl herself has made her determined in her career to educate her clients to love and appreciate their gift of curls. Morgan's work has appeared on television, the pages of many magazines and on the heads of numerous celebrities. When Morgan isn't busy making curls look their best, she can be found speaking on behalf of Ouidad's training team. Her years of knowledge has brought her to California to share her passion of curl's with the west coast. She is a cut, color, and softening specialist.
