Ouidad, the curly hair expert and industry pioneer is looking for an exceptional stylist with a passion for curls and a successful track record as a stylist and educator to help lead trainings at her world-class curl education center in Manhattan.

For more than 30 years Ouidad has been studying, treating, styling and educating the world about curls. Her years of hands-on experience with every imaginable curl type led to the development of an award winning product line and the creation of trademarked cutting and styling techniques for which her salons are now known.

Ouidad's exclusive cutting method is only available at her Manhattan and Santa Monica salons and at her select network of certified salons. To become Ouidad certified, every stylist must attend an intensive cutting and styling training course, with a focus on curl care and product knowledge. Stylists must successfully complete a final demonstration to pass the course and become Ouidad certified.

The lead candidate for this position must first undergo this extensive training program and successfully master the Ouidad cutting, styling, finishing and training techniques.

Essential Job Function & Responsibilities:

Help Ouidad and team lead the certified salon training program
Ability to master Ouidad proprietary cutting, styling and finishing techniques
Ability to teach, coach and assess certified stylist skill set and long-term potential
Assist in the development of training materials and curriculum
Help coach and develop training skills of existing training team
Ability to become expert on formulations, application and product recommendations
Lead product knowledge trainings
Provide styling and training support for salon and retail specific events
Ability to travel extensively – to conduct product and stylist trainings outside of NY

Additional Qualifications:

All candidates must possess a cosmetology license
Minimum of 5 years of salon experience as a licensed stylist
Salon education, cutting, styling and color experience
Expertise and experience with Curly and textured hair
Ability to be flexible and to learn and embrace new skills and techniques
Team player attitude motivated by the success of the entire team
Professional attitude and image
Excellent presentation skills
Exceptional customer service skills
