Shampoo: Using the pads of the fingers, gently massage a small amount through wet hair and scalp; distribute through hair with outstretched fingers. Rinse with warm water and follow with my PlayCurl Volumizing Conditioner.
Conditioner: Apply in sections and comb through hair using a wide-tooth comb while still in the shower. Start at the bottom of the hair and work towards the scalp. Do not rinse immediately! Allow to remain on hair for 3 minutes, then rinse scalp completely with warm water. If you prefer, allow a small amount of conditioner to remain on hair ends as a leave-in treatment.
Mousse: Apply 2 pumps worth of foam to palms, work into hair beginning at roots using a rake & shake technique towards the ends.
Never bunch or scrub the hair while shampooing as this abuses the cuticle and leads to weakening and frizzing. Use the pads of fingers only and massage the scalp, then gently comb outstretched fingers in a downward motion through the hair to cleanse and detangle.
It is not necessary to shampoo every day. This allows your natural oils to lubricate and protect your hair. On days you don't shampoo, use a light spritz of Ouidad Botanical Boost or Sun Shield to refresh hair.
Hair at the ends requires more conditioner than at the roots so start applying it there and work up to the scalp. No need to put conditioner directly on the scalp.
