As the month of October begins, we honor those women and men whose lives have been affected by breast cancer, raise awareness, and look toward the future of finding prevention and a cure. At Ouidad, our commitment mirrors the fight of those affected by this disease – it’s a 365-day crusade.

For Ouidad herself it began as a very personal story of heartbreak and survival. Her own mother had lost her life to breast cancer. Shortly after, Ouidad herself received the news she too had developed this terrifying disease, at the very age her mother had been diagnosed. Ouidad feels incredibly fortunate today to call herself a breast cancer survivor of ten years and to she continues to look for the light at the end of the tunnel in finding a cure.

It is with the extreme passion of Ouidad’s own emotional experience, together with her husband and business partner, Peter Wise, she began Curls for a Cure® to help fund the research toward preventing and finding a cure for breast cancer. They are determined to make a difference in the lives of others affected by this disease.

Since founding Curls for a Cure in 2001, over $414,697 has been donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®. BCRF’s mission is to achieve prevention and a cure to breast cancer in our lifetime by providing critical funding for innovative research around the world with 91 cent of every dollar directed toward research and awareness programs.
