Hi,I have been transitioning since Janurary of this year, and for the last 5 months I have been getting braids in my hair, taking them out at the two month period and wearing my hair out for about two weeks before rebrading. During the two weeks of wearing it out. I would wash, blow dry and flat iron it streight and just wrap it and comb it out. I still have about 3 inches of relaxer in the front of my hair. I have tried twisting my hair but always find that the relaxed parts are stringy, do you have any suggestions on what I can do besides cutting my hair to prevent it from being stringy. and can you also tell me the benefits of co-washing. Thanks for any advice that you can gice me.

I co-wash because it is less harsh on the hair as oppose to using shampoos. It leaves a shine to my hair and its soft.

Hi Ailene, First congratulations on transitioning! Braids are a great way to help with the two textures. Have you tried the twist out technique but letting it fully dry before untwisting? Here is a great video that shows you how to do this style.- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QC1Jab6jXts&list=UU9M9Xc8LCrJgn6zX5w8HKTQ&index=17
