The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime by providing critical funding for innovative clinical and genetic research at leading medical centers worldwide, while increasing public awareness about good breast health.

Since its inception, the Foundation has raised more than $120 million to support clinical research at cancer centers across the globe conducting the most advanced and promising breast cancer research into new therapies and genetic links that will help lead to prevention and a cure.

Why Now?
Breast Cancer doesn't just happen in October. The American Cancer Society estimates that in the United States alone there will be well over 200,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer diagnosed this year. That's almost 600 new cases per day.

Major accomplishments in breast cancer research have been made possible by grants from BCRF. Several new drugs are in pre-clinical or clinical development, and more than six different vaccines to treat and prevent breast cancer are also being tested. Additionally, advancements in the fight on breast cancer will have far reaching benefits in the fights on other cancers.

This news is very exciting. The light at the end of the tunnel can truly be seen. Now, on the heels of this break through work and on the threshold of new therapies, is the time to pour it on and raise even more money for research and a cure!
