Smells awful. Thankful I bought the 8.5 oz. I will not be buying this again. Love the way it makes my hair feel but just can't get past the smell.

I LOVED the other ouidad products but this has the worst smell.... cloves!!! I am going to continue to use it but this really is NOT her best product... Because her others are AMAZING I will give it 3 stars... Not her best.

A really nice gel - a couple quarter-sized dollops, scrunched into my short curly hair over a leave-in conditioner, give me defined, shiny curls that last through the day. I will definitely purchase this again.

This is the best gel I've ever used. I let my hair air dry and it will look wet for a few hours, but the curls soften up as the day goes on and my hair still looks great in the evening. I find it works best to wet my hands, then work the gel through and fluff. Done and on my way!

I love love love this gel. I have very tight almost kinky curls and it tends to frizz and dry out easily. I mix Tress Effects together with Moisture Lock leave in conditioner and have beautiful soft curls every day. I have tried other hair products and always return to Ouidad.

This gel is so easy to use! I just add some to my hair after a shower, brush and style, and touch up with hairspray and my curls look perfect! I've tried the other gels- this one works the best, hands down.

Since I found and started using Ouidad a few years ago I've used the Tress Effects during the Winter months when it's not humid and it works perfectly on my hair. I don't know what I'd do without it, and hope I NEVER have to find out.

This is perfect! I am still learning how to use it for the best effect, but my hair is much more nicer. Altogether with the Ouidad shampoos, conditioners and tips, my hair is so beautiful and I get much more compliments than ever before. Perfect! Thank you!

I have curly hair, I only wash about 3 out of 7 days and I got this as a sample and it is the BEST thing to use. My curls look beautiful. I have gotten so many comments. My hair is shiny, and has lots of bounce. Love it!

Very happy with this product! I have thick hair, somewhat coarse, and a bit wavy. This provides enough hold and keeps the frizzies away all day, without weighing my hair down or making it greasy a problem for me with other products I've tried in the past. Very easy to work through hair.

This is the BEST product I have ever used for curly hair - I'd be so lost if they ever discontinued it - it is not sticky and holds my curls perfectly! LOVE this product! My hair is shiny and everyone always compliments it - I also work in a Ouidad Salon but was using this product wayyyy before!

It's a shame it took me 40 years to finally find a line of products that REALLY WORK! I have very fine, curly hair and live near the ocean. Frizz has been a constant companion, but NO MORE!! I love Ouidad products!! Makes me want to change careers and open a salon!!!

I started going to Ouidad in 1998 and I've continued using the products ever since. I have curly hair, not too tight, but it can get frizzy. This gel is by far the best product out there. It's light and really easy to apply. I can't tell you how many compliments I get on my defined shiny curls.

This is the best product I have found for my dry, unmanagable curls. I needed definition and this provides it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because my hair seems to get dryer as the day wears on. This is a really nice Gel to use over Climate Control when you need more hold. Even though the prices of both seem high, because of the consistancy of the products I use alot less then other products. This lasts me a very long time, so in the eend this is actually a great buy. I have 3B hair and it is very thick, these products reduce puff and make my hair super shiny.

I've been using the climate control and curl quencher for a few years now - I have thick SUPER frizzy hair. Well guess what - this stuff ROCKS!!! I got a sample with my last botanical boost order and not only do I love the fact that it smells different - I knew it had cloves in it! But I love the smooth feeling it gives my hair and how long it lasts. I'm switching, indefinitely, after I use up the rest of what I have I buy the VATS of this stuff! THANKS OUIDAD!

I have gotten so many compliments since using and sticking with this product. For me, it works better than Climate Control to give my thirsty, tight curls the definition they need. I use it with spray and creme leave-in conditioners. Nothing else needed for at least three days of great hair.

I LOVE this product. I have long curly hair that can frizz out horizontally without some kind of styling product. This one finally does what I've tried to find in dozens of other products. My hair just keeps getting better the longer it dries, so I don't touch it, other than to fluff it with my fingers a bit. I'd give this a 10 if I could!

Love it! This leaves my hair soft, shiny, and full of bounce. My waves are defined and frizz is kept under control, no matter how humid it gets in NYC. I highlight my hair and Tress Effects keeps it moisturized without weighing it down. I never get crunchy hair with this gel. It also washes out very easily. I tried Climate Control and didn't like it nearly as much. I'm so glad this wasn't discontinued. I was concerned there for a while when it went missing from the shelves. It's my Holy Grail styling product.

This is the ONLY product I will use. Unlike a normal gel that leaves my hair feeling heavy and sticky, Tress Effects is light and I can even run my fingers thru my hair. I can even sleep on my hair and it still looks great the next day. I've been using this product for 10 years and I'll never switch!

This is one of the first products I used from Ouidad and I really like it - gives my fine, thin curls definition and a voluminous boost too! I live in Chicago, so summers can be very humid so I usually swap out Tress Effects for Climate Control, which gives better protection in the humidity. At any rate, I'd say my 2 favorite Ouidad products are Climate Control and Tress Effects.

I really like this product because it controls my curls without making my hair look stiff or wet. There are days when this product does not last all day, causing my hair to become frizzy. But overall I really like this product and would recommend it.

this is the only gel that I will ever use, I have tried other gels for curly hair and they either leave my hair stiff or my hair gets frizzy. I have recomended tress effects to other curly girls and they love it. not all hair is the same and curly hair needs special treatments, and thats what tress effects is, a special treatment.

This gel is AMAZING!!!!! I have tried SO many different curly ahir products and this one is the best!!! not only does it give your curls and amazing boost, it holds for days if it needs to! I'm in a performer and I do 8 shows a week, and I know when I use this gel, my hair will look great on stage show after show. I highly reccomend it!!!

Tress Effects is hands down the best styling gel I have ever used on my hair. The light control is so great, my hair is soft with no stiff or sticky residue, and it smells wonderful! Some people have even asked if they can touch my hair because they thing it seems unreal! The best part is that these crazy curls are so easy to maintain. Since I found Ouidad about 5 years ago I use nothing but Ouidad products. I am one happy curly gurl!

When applying, begin by raking fingers through underneath layers of hair. Then, beginning at the crown, rake downward toward the ends, and lastly, rake from the temple and forehead to the crown. This will ensure complete coverage and help prevent the under layers of hair from stacking out when dry.
