    More Than Curly Salon is the only Salon in the Rocky Mountain Region that specializes in Naturally Curly Hair. Our motto: "We Understand Curly", is not just a saying, but a description of who we are. Our commitment to Curly Satisfaction, has earned the trust of over 2,000 satisfied clients and counting since opening in 2011, but don't worry, you will NOT be treated like just another number, instead... MORE like family!

    We are proud to be the only Ouidad® Certified Salon in Aurora, with the most Certified Curl Experts® in the Region to serve you. Our close proximity to Denver International Airport, (25minute drive to the Main Terminal), has given us the opportunity to serve Ouidad® Clients from all over the nation while traveling. If you are an existing Ouidad® Client from outside of Colorado, and your travels plans allow for you to come by, we would love to see you, and give you the excellent Ouidad® services you have come to expect.

    At More than Curly, we carry the full line of Ouidad® haircare products, along with Moroccanoil® and Design Essentials®. If you are looking for Color services, More Than Curly exclusively uses the Schwarzkopf Professional color line, and if that were not enough, we have on staff Schwarzkopf Professional USA's Regional Technical Advisor (Kimberly) to give you an awesome Ouidad Carve and Slice® with Color!     The 3 words that best describe my cutting style are:
    Point cutting, personal, and fun!

    When my clients leave MORE Than Curly Salon, I want them to feel loved! I do this by listening to my clients. Asking them: “What is your hair goal?” and giving them the education to achieve that goal. I want them to leave excited, comfortable, and ready to wear the beautiful curly hair God has given them!

    My biggest inspiration is my beautiful husband and best friend who inspires me to be the women that God has purposed me to be. My mother because she illustrated what hard working, sacrificial love looks like in a mother. I praise the Lord for both of them.

    My favorite thing about curls is how there are so many different types of curly hair. I get so excited to see when a client comes in not liking their curly hair, but loving their curly hair when they leave! They never knew they had such beautiful hair.

    The words I live by are:
    “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” –Jesus-

    What inspired you to be a hairstylist?
    My friends, family, and the love for people and hair.

    What makes Melissa “MORE Than” a Salon Owner/Stylist?
    Opening MORE Than Curly Salon, as an act of obedience to the Lord. I am also blessed to be the mother of three smart, talented and beautiful children and had the opportunity to stay home with them before they all started school. After the kids went to school, I went to school myself at Pickens Tech in Aurora, to get my cosmetology license, and now own an awesome salon. I am also blessed to be married for 14+ years! Thank you Jesus!

    Like they just had the best time of their life. I want them to enjoy themselves...laugh & love their hair. Ask any questions they want and understand the answer.

    My biggest inspiration is:
    Being able to realize how far I can go and encourage others on their journey through curly hair. I strive to be the best at anything I set my mind to but also have fun.

    That NO two are alike. It feeds my creativity & pushes me to learn more.

    Strength and Honor - Strength to push myself & honor to always be truthful with myself & clients.

    What inspirted you to be a hairstylist?
    My creative side needed an outlet and I hated every haircut I had gotten. It sent me on a search for something better & taught me how to be the hairstylist that I NEVER had.

    A color educator for Schwartzkopf Professonial.

      Melissa is a highly skilled, OUIDAD certified stylist. I was thrilled with my carve and slice cut and color. I was happy to make the trip from Wyo and will continue. Finding Mellissa was blessing. No longer have to fly to NYC. Melissa and Jason have created a warm inviting salon. Diane Chino

        I absolutely loved my Ouidad cut and style with Melissa! I've had a few different Ouidad cuts and hers was my favorite ever. Plus she was so full of information about my hair and gave me some tips that I am using every day now!! Add to that her sweet personality and attentiveness, it was perfect!

          I'm so happy that Melissa is living her dream of having her own salon! I have fine curly hair that I used to straighten, till I met Melissa and she taught me how to embrace my hair. She is so genuine, friendly and an expert at curls. Kid-friendly salon that you will brag to your friends about!

            We live in Wyoming & my two daughers & I drive over 400 miles to have Melissa cut our curly hair. She is an expert curly stylist, we always walk away amazed at how well our hair looks, her salon is absolutely stunning & her staff is fabulous! The Ouidad Carve & Slice cuts are worth every penny!!

              This is my first Carve and Slice cut and I absolutely love it! My hair looks and feels wonderful and the curls just fall into place. I also love the color that Melissa did. It is nice to walk into a salon that is so warm and friendly. I am so glad to have found Melissa and will go again!
